If it were mine I'd throw a 3rd (small) drive in there and run C and D on the primary IDE channel on the motherboard (slave the DVD to the burner.) This would a) remove the OS/swap bandwidth from the audio drives and dedicate them completely to audio and b) increase the allowable size of the striped volumes. You also might want to consider better drives - a friend of mine just got a dual athlon system with 2 striped WD1200JB (120 gig 8mb cache) drives, and it opens/saves 150MB photoshop files in about 2 seconds flat. Those WD 8MB cache drives are wicked fast in a RAID 0 configuration. =)
For more info on drive performance check out www.storagereview.com - they post all the benchmarks. -pooka > -----Original Message----- > From: part.muted [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Thursday, May 09, 2002 7:58 AM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Cc: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [LUG] [LAW] My LOGIC workhorse... > > > Hi... > > I'm about to bash the c/c - so wanna, if poss, make sure the setup I'm > aiming for will work like dream.
