Hi, At the moment i have a Pentium 2 450 CPU in my PC and 192MB RAM.
I'm just wondering what i could do to seriously speed up the PC for editing my tracks. It takes about 3 mins to save the undo and then EQ a 6min track in Cool Edit Pro and i get a bit fed up waiting... Would it be better to fit a new CPU (about 100 i guess) or just bring the RAM up to 512MB to make a difference to the speed (only 40)? I have no idea what my motherboard is (what do i need to know?), but if i changed the processor, whats the most powerful one that will definitely still fit a 1999 motherboard (that works fine with a PII 450)? I realise i can't just slot in a P4 1.5ghz (unfortunately)... Cheers for any info... Dan DISCLAIMER: The Information in this message is confidential and may be legally privileged.
