I kinda know what u mean. Their stabs seem to fill a larger frequency range.
How about if u take the high note and stick a low pass filter over it then resample it. U could do this in real time with ure EMU - just add another copy of the stab sample into the stab preset and edit the voice (not the group) to stick the lowpass filter over the new sample. This way u can mess with the frequencies as the loop is playing - seeing which sounds better. Does that make sense ?
