OK.. I used to use the ultramaximiser but I found I prefer the sound from T-racks 24 
and you can't use both. (The ultramaximiser needs to be the final processing coz of 
the dithering algorithm)..

I'll do some experimenting when I get the chance.. 

Out of interest, can anyone recommend an 'exciter' only type plugin? I've got an old 
one at home (forget the name) but it just makes white noise in any versions of cubase 
after 3.7..

I think it just adds extra sub-harmonics.  You can use it either way, but to
resolve your problem, I'd use it on kicks and bass.

Try the Ultramaximizer for some extra sparkle, this adds extra top end.  But
putting you entire mix through both maybe over kill.

Maxxbass the kicks and bass, ultramax the entire mix.
