Yeah,
I agree that a lot of the new features (automation, midi effects etc..) are
pretty cool.. I've never used Nuendo though, so I guess I just expected it to be
more like, well, Cubase!!
I like
it overall but I just think it's let down by a few silly things.. Fair enough if
there are other ways to do things in SX (Nuendo style shortcuts etc.) but you'd
think they could have kept the Cubase features as well.. *tsk*..
Anyway, I haven't read the manual yet so I should probably shut my
gob!!

Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: How is SX, anyway? Some things are different compared to 5.1 and seem to be rather based on the Nuendo way of doing things but just take some time to read the manual and you'll probably find out a lot of interesting things (handy keyboard shortcuts)... If you want to set a loop around a part for example, just click the part and press 'P'... (hmmm... maybe this was in cb5.1 too, never tried it...)I kinda like the 'new' mixer... it takes some time of getting used to but I get the feeling it works a lot quicker than 5.1 or Nuendo... And the automation ofcourse is just fantastic... I used to import my nearly finished cubase projects into nuendo (after recording all midi gear to audio because midi was fucked up in Nuendo on my machine) just to make use of the automation... And now I can keep everything withing the same sequencer!!! Hurray!!! :)--------Original Message-----

Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: How is SX, anyway? Is it just my imagination (or my copy of SX!), but have Steinberg taken out nearly ALL the mouse shortcuts I used to use in 5.1?For example:1. I tried to change the left and right loop markers on the transport bar using the mouse.. (ie. .click the left button to move the loop 1 bar left and the right button to move it right etc..). and it no longer works.. You can only type the position in manually.2. I couldn't set a loop in the midi editor screen at all..3. I couldn't work out how to change the timescale on the ruler from bars to time and vice versa.. (used to be able to click the position box above the editing panel). There were loads of other things I noticed in the short time I played with it.. I just want to make sure it's not my dodgy copy that's at fault?!If it's just a case of learning how to do it in 6 then I guess I'll find out when I read the manual!!cheers,Nickp.s. Oh yeah, and what's with the new mixer design?? It's farkin' horrible!! I think I'd prefer the new functionality with a 5.1 style front end!-----Original Message-----WIcked as hell? I just got it and the interface is dope...automation of the effects are simple as shit..i might have to stop using logic..
