Hi Drew. (Not sure if the other one sent properly so i stuck it on the board just to make sure you got this. Anything else ref Cubase 5.1/SX and Audiowerk let me know ok).
Nice to see you have the Audiowerk 8 too. It's just a shame that you can't get the fucker to work. Are you sure you are installing the drivers properly. If you're using 98/ME/XP try removing it from the add/remove programs menu in the control panel folder. Then install the latest drivers from www.emagic.de when the >Found new hardware< menu comes up after a restart. If you are using Cubase 5.1, use the ASIO 2 drivers. You get much lower Latency than the MME drivers and it's much more stable. If i play VSTi's i have the latency at 9ms so i can play them in real time but when mixing down a song, i put the latency up to 182ms to avoid pops and clicks. ( if you do use cubase, go to the sync menu and put the PPQN to full. I think it's 19200 or something like that. And put the system preroll to 250. This should ensure midi and Audio lock nice and tight like a nuns you know what!! If you use Wavelab or Soundforge for audio editing, use the MME drivers. There should be a little icon at the bottom right hand side of your taskbar. Make sure you sync multi outputs and have the latency sat at around 92ms. I found this best for overall use with wavelab and soundforge and also to watch porn movies in media player and other multimedia programs. If you use Logic, the same applies. Make sure that you are using the AUDIOWERK ASIO 2 drivers instead of the ASIO MME drivers. If non of that works for you, try putting the soundcard in another PCI slot. I had problems with audio freezing up before i moved it to another slot. I believe it has something to do with the way the mother board prioritises hardware inside your computer. I can't remember how my computer is set up cos it's in my room but if you want to know, i'll open it up later and let you know tomorrow. I hope that may have helped you. If not, let me know exactly whats wrong in full detail and i'll see what i can do. I personally think it's a great card with a very unique warm sound. At the end of the day, it's made me money so i can't complain. But as i said, let me know in full detail of any probs if non of that works for you ok mate.
