Sorry to butt in
here but I thought I should pass on something that I've picked up recently..
If you're gonna make
a break from scratch using individual hits you should try resampling each drum
sample using as many weird techniques and mediums as you can to try and make the
hit *sound* like it was sampled when in fact it wasn't.. Try using tape to tape
or video cassettes etc.. This will definately improve the overall sound of the
break (provided it's done correctly).. I guess this only really effects those
people using pure drum machines and/or a purely digital signal
path....
