well the emi takes a lot of power to get it to run correctly.  it was a
wierd rating, like 5v 500mA or something bizarre. No one carried it. I think
the amperage rating is actually right on the mark for standard usb power,
but some usb hubs/connections fall short on some machines. They make special
usb hubs with high power ratings just for that purpose.On the emagic site
they suggest using an external power supply if artifacts are introduced
while recording/playing out. might be worth a try but i would make sure you
could return it if it doesn't do anything for you.
