Which version of Acid are you running?
Version 4 supports vsts. You might want to get a compressor and compress individual
sounds instead of the whole mix…

I can't
say as I know where High Contrast gets his samples from but most people tend to
sample old vinyl... Look for sections in the record where there are no
drums/vocals etc. and then see if there's anything worth taking..
Other
than that you could try the dnbproduction ftp (but I think it's down at the
moment) to get some sample cds.. Or you could go buy some.. Time and Space have
the biggest catalogue that I know of...
Not sure
exactly what you mean by the BPM thing.. You could either program a tempo
increase in the master automation track in cubase (which I've never done) or
maybe use some form of processing in Sound Forge..
I'm not
sure but maybe you mean that the breaks are sparser before the drop?? (I can't
think of many tunes that start at 120 and speed up at the drop but maybe I'm
wrong)..

anybody know how i can create those atmospheric
sounds, like spinning dreams? like the ones in big bud's darker than blue.
and where can i get some amazing samples like the ones
high contrast uses. he does all his production using cubase and samples only,
so i want some of these type of samples.
im havin real trouble with drum loops. ive got a few
ok samples but ive used them so much that they are boring. how do i layer
sounds like if u notice in a lot of dnb, the beat starts off at about 120bpm
then goes to about 170bpm when the tunes in full flow.
veritas
p.s. any ideas about gettin soundtrack type
inspirational sounds?
