Try layering those two sounds (maybe a few more) and piss around with the envelopes, filter them differently.  If your sampler lets you, mess around with the eq on each sound as well.

hey guys, anyone have an idea of exactly how c4c does this particular sub bass sound?  its timbrality is really similar to that of a real bass guitar, but has all the tight punchiness of a synth bass.  any pointers on how to make such a bass from scratch?
