Hi

Fitting internal ones aren't 'that' difficult, but by the time you have uninstalled
the old one (devices and software), taken your PC cover off, unplugged the old drive,
replaced it with the new one, checked it, put the pC together again and installed it
and its software and tested a burn on a CDRW, you've said goodbye to about 4hrs (well,
I did, but i hadn't done it before, so you gotta look at the worst case scenario, ha,
ha). I'm pleased i did it tho cos i learnt quite a bit and as long as youre careful,
logical and don;t force things you should be cool.

Or spend at least another 50-80 and buy a USB/SCSI/Firewire external one - which is
an expensive but easier way to do it since you just plug them in (SCSI needs the right
leads mind). The Iomega ones should be ok.

Hope that helps,

Dan

Cheers for response on this subject, ive been lookin round and have found
this model ....LITEON LTR52245S 52x24x52x CD-RW
http://shop.cd-writer.com/acatalog/ALL_PRODUCTS_RECOMMENDED_WRITERS_12.html
its 3rd one down page. Also im not sure if i wanna bother getting an
internal drive, ie having to fit it my self, thinking of an external one
instead. Are then any dissadvantages of external over internal or via versa
and is there any difference in cost? and how easy is it to fit an internal?
apologies for my pussyo simple q's, but ive no idea ! DOh!

cheers,

andy.
