Im looking to put together a new audio workstaion to replace my current setup (Pentium III 733 mhz, win98 SE). I'll probably put the box together myself from scratch (as i did my last one). I'll keep my old system around for internet/office apps/email, etc. so i can keep this one for strictly audio use.
I'll be using my current audio card (Layla 20-bit) and USB Midi interface in the new system, but does anyone have recommendations for motherboard+cpu combos for a dedicated audio workstation? Also any recommendations as too Win 2k vs. Win XP? I'll be using the system mainly to run Logic 5.2, some VSTi's like Halion, Kontakt, Absynth and loads of Direct X and Vst plug-ins. I've used Pentium systems since the 90 mhz, but i think im open to Athalon or Celeron systems this time around as price is definately a concern. Mainly a want to put together a cheap, very *stable* system has enough power to run Logic and a few VSTi's without complaining too much. Anyone have any tips? thanks, trust --- Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [email protected] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
