I have a bit of a problem with a sample I am trying to use.
I have sampled a section froma hip-hop track which I want to loop and use as the 'tune' section of my track, by putting creating a drum loop to go over it.
I am only using software and I am starting out by trying this in Fruity Loops.
My only problem is, when using a bar length of '32' I put the sample in the start of the bar, and it overlaps the end. This is no problem as on the looping screen I can put the pattern on every other block.
However, in order to get the sample looping smoothly and continuously I need to set the bpm of the track to 186.
This limits me in the drum pattern and other samples I wish to use. If the bpm is slightly higher or lower there is a gap or overlap between the end and start of the loop.
what is the best way to process samples to use in loops. or the best software to use. In Acid, the sample is calulated as 46 bmp, so if I include it in the sequence, my drum loop will have to be that slow.
help me....
what do I need to do!!!!
If I need to be clearer in my description please let me know, as I have made tracks before by starting with the sample of setting the bpm of the track around it - and it just seems to add a whole new lengthy chore to making a track..
thanks,
Matt

I've got 2 questions if anyone could help me:
1) what is some good software for mastering my final mixes
2) I've got a mackie 1202 VLZ board and a MIDIMAN audiophile card, how can I best utilize my board (right now i just do all my mixing on my computer, but i hear everyone talking about running their setup through an external mixing board, what's the advantage and how do i set ti up properly?)
thanks
andy
