Hokey cokey pig in a pokey,

Erm, surely you picked up a few skills in programming when you were amassing that not inconsiderable amount of kit?

Theres no easy route - you gotta experiment once you got the kit.....

Check the list archive for youdirtyrats comments on beat programming...

Subject: [dnb-prod] Liquid Beats

Hokay - Hello All.

I'm a long time subscriber to this list, and read regularly - although this is my first post..........

I have the following kit (co-owned, as I'm not rich);

Mackie 1604 VLZ Pro Mixer
Spirit Speakers
Yamaha A5000 Sampler
Yamaha A3000 Sampler
Virus C Synth
Yamaha Proteus Synth
Master Keyboard (obviously)
A couple of Compressors
A couple of Lexicon FX units
An excellent PC running Cubase, Soundforge, ect.

I want to do some LIQUID BEAT PROGRAMMING.............. how do I set this up?

Do I run all of the singe hits in Audio, with plug in compressors, EQ etc., and then use the Virus for Bass (and other Stuff), and the Sampler for....... well samples.

OR

Do I use the Sampler for single hits (for more control), send each hit through a single channel on the mixer, and then mix down for final compression, and mixing?

Advice Much Appreciated.
