You could try the PCI card in another slot but not the first (top) one, can't remember the reason why you should leave the first PCI slot empty but it messes with the soundcard. There is probably nothing wrong with the cards as it's recommended to use low end video cards when doing audio stuff, I have a voodoo 3 AGP + SiS 4mb PCI and it works a treat, although in SX I sometimes get large font size glitches when using waves plugs.
