no more yabba dabba doo!! Big up the rymetyme and the MC Dynamite! Also tali!! those with the different vibes and approaches to the art of MCing are the only ones that are doing anythin worthwhile with it at the moment. (not that rymetyme is an innovator IMO but he has a great sensibility about what he does and I admire that to no end.)
Seriously, it would probably be less annoying across the board if they all used less buzz words. After a while they become comical and/or dumb, just mindless yelling automatons screeching catch phrases. I like a couple of the local MCs here quite a bit. The few that i like are great at both involving / hyping up the crowd and also sitting back and letting a mix play out when it should. Stylistically some of them here are also very diverse, and that's an awesome thing to see. ~Andy > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, February 12, 2003 3:44 AM > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: new breaks! > > > Word - I'd rather listen to someone who's got something intelligent to say > some of the time than a mumbling monkey babblin bullshit all the time. > > ;) > > -----Original Message----- > From: Daniel Norman [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 12 February 2003 11:52 > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: new breaks! > > > > I remember meeting DRS a few years back in Appaloosa's studio > when i was at > uni. > The funny thing is he never actually said a word for about 3hrs.. > he seemed > contentedly quiet (till you put a mic in his hand...) > > Appearances can be deceptive 8) > > -----Original Message----- > From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 12 February 2003 11:31 > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: new breaks! > > > MC Conrad? > > DRS? > > SP? > > Even Darrison - I like his French 'vocals' ;) > > > > -----Original Message----- > From: kevinacameron [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: 12 February 2003 11:36 > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: new breaks! > > > its not that we dont know what they are saying, its that they > dont know what > they are saying... it god damn gibberish, > > ryme tyme is very good though.... > > -----Original Message----- > From: Terry Morgan [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, February 12, 2003 4:50 AM > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: new breaks! > > > Don't get me started on MCs!!
