I was at a mates place where they had it set up a few days ago... 
It seems to be a complete bastard to keep happy and there are a number
of rules to be observed:

1. If you change the tempo you may find you have to unsync and resync
(even unactivate system link all together.
2. Make sure the SPDIF on both machines is set to the same format
(pro/consumer).
3. Make sure one machine is the master.
4. Press both sync buttons on the transport bar (on both machines I
mean).

If this doesn't help then post a more detailed description of the prob..

I've got the midi linked up fine and the SPDIF I/O linked but i keep
getting 
wordclock errors etc etc.
arrggghhhh!!!!
