hehehe thanks very much all! :) actually this is straight out of reason, except i used the final mastering preset in waves l1 ultramaximizer after i opened it up in sound forge.
drums consist of 5 layered breaks plus drum samples i cut from a live drum break sample (4 kicks, 4 snares, 2 hats) and loaded in redrum. each of the 4 kicks were connected to the same channel with the merger, same with snares, same with hats. vocals were cut from a toni braxton a capella i found (ooooh scandalous me lol). bass is just some short little pulse bass sample i had, layered over a sub bass sample i created in sound forge using fm synthesis. the guitary sounding keys were actually from the reason sound bank, sax consists of 3 samples from some other refill (i cut them up in bits and rearranged them. all pads made with malstrom, one or two of the melodic elements were made with the subtractor module. i was careful with eqing on this one, not really messing with stuff too too much - eqed all the breaks the same way, bongos not eq'ed at all just put on a band pass filter. i used only a little delay and a touch of reverb on the samples. no compression used at all in this tune (save for the post-production use of waves L1). the working title was "sadsong" (i was pretty down when i wrote it). finished it in 20 hours. this is actually the original, untouched, completed version. i haven't touched it since that time, i don't think i can think of anything to do to it to change it some way i'd like it better except maybe to give it a more solid kick drum. :) ~andy > -----Original Message----- > From: amit wadhwa [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Sent: Thursday, October 02, 2003 5:11 PM > To: Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List > Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: phrantek - new tunes > > > ditto. very well done. wanna tell us how you made it? > > > > Terry Morgan writes: > > > Have to agree, that Ethereality track is EASILY of release > quality... top > > quality production. > > > > Most impressive, young padawan. > > > > > >> From: entitee <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >> Reply-To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" > >> <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >> To: "Drum & Bass Arena Discussion List" > <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > >> Subject: [dnb-prod] Re: phrantek - new tunes > >> Date: Thu, 02 Oct 2003 13:20:27 -0700 > >> > >> Phrantek tunes rock! > >> always comes with that clean melodic sound. > >> gotta love it. > >> > >> --kev/entitee > >> http://www.soundclick.com/entitee > >> > >> > >> on 10/2/03 12:21 PM, hak at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > >> > >> > DOOD! feeling the tune! really nice production (actually, im really > >> > impressed). clean sound outta my event project 6's. i love the > >> > bassline; classic sound. the vocal is perfect, not cheesy as some of > >> > these tunes get. i would play this out in a minute... > >> > good work! > >> > hakthedj > >> > On Wednesday, Oct 1, 2003, at 22:27 US/Pacific, Josh Steiner wrote: > >> > > >> >>> http://www.phrantek.com/audio/tracks/phrantek-ethereality.mp3 > >> > :: > >> > jungleDUB inna 2003 > >> > www.easeuprecordings.com > >> > > >> > > >> > > >> > --- > >> > Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk > >> > You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >> > To unsubscribe send a blank email to > >> > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >> > > >> > >> > >> --- > >> Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk > >> You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > >> To unsubscribe send a blank email to > >> [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > > _________________________________________________________________ > > Use MSN Messenger to send music and pics to your friends > > http://www.msn.co.uk/messenger > > > > > > --- > > Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk > > You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > To unsubscribe send a blank email to > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > > --- > Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk > You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > To unsubscribe send a blank email to > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > --- Drum&Bass Arena Producers Discussion List http://www.breakbeat.co.uk You are currently subscribed to dnb-prod as: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe send a blank email to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
