Examine dnews.log for a problem which may be makign dnews shutdown.
If you can't find anything then create a dos window and type in
cd \windows\system
dnews -test
That should run dnews in that window, either it will work and the little
light will turn green, or it will
fail and give an error, or give an error in dnews.log
Let me know the results.
