Do you mean just stop posts going upstream for this group, yes in
newsfeeds.conf lets assume the group you want
to stop going upstream is rec.humor
site me
groups *
site upstream.news.server
groups *,!local.*,!rec.humor
However, do you actually mean 'rename the group to a locally named group'
There are two ways of doing this. one is a utility you'll find on
http://netwinsite.com/dgate/
It's not been heavily used/tested but it's intended for this
purpose gatewaying to a different group name
Another optoin is to simply do this:
tellnews newgroup local.humor
tellnews copy_group rec.humor local.humor
And you could do that copy_group command every day with a cron/at job to
add in items from outside.
