Since Chris is also reading this ML regulary i post my suggestion here
on the board to that you all can make your suggestions.
For us as ISP it's essential to have Traffic logs about IHAVE Newsfeeds.
Atm i use the tellnews stats_in command and grab every night the data
with a script out of it.
Problem is, if DNEWS is crashing (which occurs normaly not!) the whole
stats of a day are lost or i have to grab them manually from the
logfile.
My idea is:
1.) DNEWS writes the trafficcounter in a special log file
2.) DNEWS should make sure that with a crash (probably error handler)
the
current stats are written to this file, same before an expire (with
expire the stats will be resetted)
Since i deeply don't trust the stats utility from DNEWS webpage (based
on INN Report) i suggest Netwin to implement such a feature.
It would be a very nice thing, since i found no real stats tool for
DNEWS.
What do you all think about this?
