This can be caused by one of two things
         1) the 'myname' setting in /etc/dnews.conf is wrong, try your ip 
number in that file instead., or 127.0.0.1 if nothing else works.
         2) If you have slave_n>1 in dnews.conf and don't start dnews with 
dmulti_start.sh, or you have
         no slave_n and do start dnews dmulti_start.sh instead of 
dnews_start.sh
         then that will also cause this.
         3) it can be caused by routing configuration issues, but that is rare.
