Hi,

DNews supports a read-only configuration which allows additional servers to
read off a master servers spool. There is no facility to self-promote a
server in the event the master fails, but it should keep reading from the
spool. Some minor changes to the configuration files should allow you to
manually switch the read-only server to the master (restart dnews after
making these changes).
