Hi, This error means you haven't given permission for dnewsweb to access your server without a username/password. Depending on your configuration, you may need to add access in access.conf for either the LAN address or 127.0.0.1 (Most likely in your case 127.0.0.1).

I have been running a webpage with Apache for some time now, but have only done minimal changes to the main configuration file for Apache. Is there something I have to configure in there to allow it to "support nntp DLIST command" as the error below indicates? > > TIA > -cypher > > Sorry, this server does not support the nntp DLIST command > Try DNEWS 2.5 or later or possibly you need to give your web server access to dnews with no password restrictions > 480 User and password still required, authinfo command > > DNEWSWEB.INI > -------------------------------------------------------------- > -------------------------------------------------------------- > # This header file is sensitive to case and spaces, so edit it with care. > # the format is > # paramter value > > # Specify the newshost, use and ip number to speed up the response. > newshost 127.0.0.1 > > # Groups to display as available > # groups rec.humor,rec.humor.funny,test.one,test.two > # This is now in the file top.tpl > > # Groups to actually let people read e.g. rec.*,fred.* > allow * > > # Define the directory where your *.tpl TEMPLATES are > # this is now REQUIRED.
