Hi,

There are two other solutions if you absolutely cannot remove articles
(which is of course what a news server is designed to do).  You must also
ensure you are doing an expire each night, even if you're not expiring any
articles.

The method we recommend was added in 56a (Should be in 56a3), and involves
setting a maximum size for the history. The setting in dnews.conf is -

    hist_max 2000000000

This will cause dnews to trim the history when this limit is reached.
