Hi,
I'm not certain which version of DNews is being used in this case, but there
was recently a bug in sponsor mode which caused this to not function
correctly. This may be the case with the version you are using, or if it is
the latest version (5.6e3 IIRC), then the fix may be broken, and we'll look
in to it.
Also note the setting in dnews.conf uses incorrect spelling for 'sponsor'.
