Hi, Since your spool and other configuration is stored elsewhere, you can just backup the configuration file "%windir%\system32\dnews.conf", restore this on the new system, and change the paths as necessary.
Details on moving DNews to another computer or OS are available at http://www.netwinsite.com/dnews/faq3.htm#10. You can follow the shorter instructions for moving to a system with the same OS, and just skip the file copying part. As usual, to be on the safe side, backups should be made of important data. - Roydon L. <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message news:<[EMAIL PROTECTED]>... > > Hello, > > I am in the process of upgrading the OS on my PC that is running DNews. Actually, I'm upgrading from W2k Pro to W2k Server, so a reinstall is necessary (no upgrade path). > > Anyway, is there a procedure for making backing (and restoring) up all of my DNews settings and databases? My DNews folder is on a seperate logical partition from the OS, so it won't be overwrittin during the installation of Windows. > > Any tips or advice from those who have been through it? > > TIA! > > Steve >
