The key figure above (from the status output) is "Cached 0" this means
you haven't read any news groups, or told dnews specifically to update
any groups. To fix do this:
tellnews cached wanted.news.group 10
e.g.
tellnews cached comp.lang.c 10
Then
tellnews update
Or you could connect with a news client and read some groups, you may
need to adjust the dnews.conf settings to make it trigger from your news
client, I would usually add:
cachedall false
cache_onxover true
Let us know if that doesn't fix it.
