Migrated a server from a Windows machine running 56f3. The license has not been transferred over to the new machine yet. It is running on the 30-day trial.
access.conf, newsfeeds.conf, control.conf, moderators.conf, and fts.conf are unchanged from the Windows box, copied to the FreeBSD box.
dnews.conf is unchanged from the Windows 56f3 version, except directory names were changed, manager name changed, disk space name changed.
FreeBSD box is a virtual private server w/ root access. The IP address changed.
No propogation of the upstream feed. No content in the *.out files at all. No 'out:' found in any of the .log files.
Do get a propogation of the downstream feed. Posts made elsewhere make it to our server. Just not the other way around.
Have had hosting company push the reverse DNS lookup so the IP address should reverse DNS back to the original host name.
Added an entry in /etc/hosts to point the name of the original Windows host to the new IP address as well.
No joy. Any ideas?
Check as follows telnet upstream.news.server 119 ihave <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> . post And see if it allows either of those. If that doesn't provide a good clue, then send us newsfeeds.conf to examine together with a tellnews status.
