FTFA It sounds like systemd is evolving into a piece of software which touches 
every single part of the operating system; and that's quite concerning in 
itself without considering  one team is maintaining it all.

no need for /etc/fstab ?
empty /etc/* ?
resolvd subject to cache poisoning? 

These are not subtle changes and have all the hallmarks of a project spun out 
of control.  How the systemd people plans to pull this off I don't know. The 
regressions and bug fixes are going to consume so much time things will never 
be fixed right.  It's scary.
