This seems a bit arbitrary: System I manage usually have a root password set and sudo installed. The root password is for emergency remote access, sudo is to enable others to run stuff as root without also logging in as root. I consider the 'traditional' way of managing UNIX(*) installations, ie, there's on local user named root which ends up being an indeterminate number of real people, very messy and cumbersome as it's basically impossible to tell who is actually logged into some machine. _______________________________________________ Dng mailing list Dng@lists.dyne.org https://mailinglists.dyne.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/dng
