Just found out that on my Ubuntu Trusty system, after killing
network-manager, I dont have any (installed) dependency to polkit left
(just a few things need the polkit library).
Xfce4 applets, Thunar, and lightdm need it. Tat makes a lot of
things to hack. Tabbed applications may be nice, but I think we need a
classical DE (with moving windows and mouse-controlled) independant of
polkit.
