One prominent example meanwhile is: % getcap /bin/ping /bin/ping = cap_net_raw+ep :) Unless I know better I always use ｢rsync -aAHXS｣ for backuping directory trees. Of these I think especially -H has a significant cost. And -S, but -S will save quite some space with files with large holdes in it.
