Dear D1rs, just to let you know that, thanks to the work of Svante and several other devs, a new version of policykit (0.105-18+devuan2.9) will hit ascii repos soon. This version should solve most of the problems with the selection of the correct policykit backend/agent (either elogind or consolekit), removes the useless *backend-systemd packages, and introduces a more sensible naming of the lib packages. In principle, the upgrade should leave stuff as it is if you already have a working consolekit or elogind setup. Please test the upgrade from Devuan ASCII Beta and/or from De??an Jessie and/or from De??an Stretch as extensively as possible, and report any regression. This might be the latest effective stumbling block before ASCII RC.
