Which means that on systems not using systemd /etc/default/opendkim is
still being honored. In fact, a fragment of /etc/init.d/opendkim
reads:

# Include opendkim defaults if available
if [ -f /etc/default/opendkim ] ; then
        . /etc/default/opendkim
fi
