We are an Internet research and development company based in Oxfordshire with a focus on work related to Internet Protocols. We work on contracts for a variety of organisations around the world as well as several open source projects. Our work includes software development, standards development, project management, training, consultancy and testing. Responsibilities * Requirements gathering and analysis * Rapidly prototype proof of concept code * Analyse existing code and design new functionality, upgrades and patches * Development of tested, secure, production quality code using the most appropriate development tools and technologies * To keep up to date with the latest developments in Internet technologies and standards Requirements * Maths, computer or physical sciences degree * Recent, in-depth knowledge of systems programming in C * Experience with databases * Working knowledge of Git, GDB/LLDB and GNU Autotools * Experience of developing and working on GNU/Linux and/or OS X platforms * Experience of Agile development methodologies * A willingness and ability to pick up other languages quickly * Flexibility, although we require in-depth C experience you will not always be working in C * Adaptable and able to work in existing code bases * Excellent English language skills Desirable skills * Knowledge of C++ (STL and Boost) or Go * Experience with asynchronous event driven programming * Experience with SQL and Javascript * Experience working on FreeBSD * An understanding of scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python) * Knowledge of computer networking and tools such as tcpdump and Wireshark * Knowledge of DNS We offer a competitive salary and a holiday allowance of 30 days per year + Bank Holidays.
