[With Correction of contact email!] Nominum: Authoritative DNS Consultant Required (3-4 month contract position)
Nominum enables service providers to reduce operating costs, protect networks and subscribers from threats, and deliver innovative services that engage and retain subscribers with customer care and marketing campaigns that deliver higher impression and conversion rates than existing communications channels. Nominum's N2 Platform is an integrated suite of applications for service providers that leverages the power of DNS to drive subscriber value. We’re in the process of expanding our onsite client presence and are looking to establish contract relationships with individuals that would be interested in being trained in Nominum technology and then being sent to client sites for a few months to augment the client teams for handling the day-to-day activities involved in planning and deploying Nominum technology at those client sites. We are looking for articulate and team-centric individuals that enjoy working in the world of DNS and its application in Service Provider environments. RESPONSIBILITIES: * Onsite work at client premises, augmenting client teams for DNS and other Nominum product deployments * Work with other Nominum consultants (who may often be remote) for deployment of client solutions * ŸWilling and able to roll up your sleeves and develop scripts and system configurations to meet clients’ requirements. * ŸAbility to understand and diagnose the behavior of the Nominum software to resolve deployment issues. * Deployment of the defined solution. * Definition of System Tests. * Writing post-deployment documentation that will be used by Nominum Support in the future. * Could be asked to deliver product training to clients, or perform other related duties. QUALIFICATIONS: * Significant hands-on background in networking technology and associated systems (UNIX/Linux, TCP/IP, UDP, RADIUS, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, AD). * Detailed knowledge of DNS (recursive and authoritative) with any DNS products (knowledge of Nominum technology a plus). * Experience with Java, CURL, Python or shell scripting. * Experience with Postgres, or other relational database, a plus. * Familiarity with virtualization technology * Strong interpersonal and presentation skills. Ability to articulate complex technology simply. * Well organized individual that does not require significant ongoing management – a self-starter * Ability to organize his/her own work and adhere to agreed schedules (sometimes tight schedules) * Experience working in Service Provider/Telco environments highly desirable. This engagement would be a 3-4 month contract onsite at the client’s premises in the midwest US. Expenses will be covered in addition to hourly rates, per Nominum policies.
