I've no idea what is "normal", but I do know they were making changes to the
.io registry platform in the last couple of weeks. I've no idea if that also
impacted their DNS setup ..

Their default TTLs in the parent zone seem to be just one hour ...

  ;; AUTHORITY SECTION:
  nic.io<http://nic.io>. 3600 IN NS
ns1.communitydns.net<http://ns1.communitydns.net>.
  nic.io<http://nic.io>. 3600 IN NS b.nic.ac<http://b.nic.ac>.
  nic.io<http://nic.io>. 3600 IN NS a.nic.io<http://a.nic.io>.
  nic.io<http://nic.io>. 3600 IN NS b.nic.sh<http://b.nic.sh>.
  nic.io<http://nic.io>. 3600 IN NS ns4.nic.io<http://ns4.nic.io>.
  nic.io<http://nic.io>. 3600 IN NS dns01.cdns.net<http://dns01.cdns.net>.
  nic.io<http://nic.io>. 3600 IN NS b.nic.io<http://b.nic.io>.

Does that seem low by TLD standards?

.io domains are not currently resolving.

Of the 7 name servers 2 have serial 1370603413 and contain no records.

The other 5 have serial 1370607008 and only contain records for .io itself and
nothing for any subdomains, at least for all I tested.
