The most likely explanation is inconsistent zone contents on both servers, perhaps by an update to the zone on the master server that didn't get picked up by the slave server(s). BTW, it's dwdns2 that returned NODATA and dwdns1 that returned NXDOMAIN. I mixed this up earlier.
