I would go a tad further, and propose "no new work unless the WG agrees that the proposed new work is more important than at least half of the remaining documents". (And I say this as someone who has just published a new document that could easily be a DNSOP document, but am happy to have it wait a year or two for the backlog to clear out.) With the criteria that Tim set out yesterday, the WG now has 25 accepted drafts to work on. Even if we move on one draft every month, which is faster than our pace from the past few years, we will still have a dozen drafts a year from now (and more if we make exceptions for new additions). --Paul Hoffman
