As Brian mentioned, there are two AS112 approaches. One involves some amount of 
lame delegation, and the other involves DNAME in the root zone. 

I think DNAME in the root zone is a lovely idea and I would very much like to 
see some junk queries handled that way, but it's worth remembering that it does 
involve a new and exciting RRTYPE in the root zone and presumably, therefore, 
multiple years of meetings before it can happen, because Root Zone.

Perhaps there's no rush and meetings are fine. 

I also think trying hard not to send the queries and simultaneously 
acknowledging that there will be some mess so we still need to stock up on 
cleaning supplies is fine. I don't think code changes and as112 are mutually 
exclusive. We can do both. 

All this sounds like a lot of work for something that I think will wind up 
being quite useless, but it would hardly be the first time that has happened.
