This seems pertinent if glibc is involved in mediating a DNS response on its way to an application. It is not obvious to me that this scenario is common. This is not the normal situation of a forwarder or a resolver running on Linux, for example, or applications running on Linux that use other stub resolver implementations. But in any case, I suppose the recommendation would be that glibc's behaviour should be fixed.
