Hi all,
As mentioned at IETF 126 in Vienna, we are planning to organise a
virtual interim meeting of the DNSOP Working Group at the end of
September/beginning of October.
The PQ-DNSSEC Research mailing list and the side meetings during the
IETF are well attended and provide a successful forum for discussion. In
light of the current developments in the field of PQC within various
IETF WGs, the DNS community also believes that work on PQ-DNSSEC should
begin within the IETF.
The virtual interim meeting of the DNSOP WG is intended as a starting
point for a discussion on which work has already begun and what is
currently still lacking. As part of that discussion, we are also
exploring potential directions in which the current work could be guided.
Some work could be discussed within the DNSOP WG and perhaps passed on
to the new DNS working group that will be established following the
split of the DNSOP. Other activities might benefit from a dedicated
working group. And although this interim meeting is *not* about
organising a BoF, the conclusion might be that we should, e.g., organise
a BoF within Security Area. Yet other activities may still be in the
research phase, and it may be too early to consider them for a WG.
To help us plan the DNSOP WG's virtual interim, we have set up a poll to
find out your availability. Please complete the poll by the end of the
working day on Wednesday 9 September at the latest.
