I'd support a move TO a vendor-independent address - but the suggestion to move away from one runs contrary to good practice. Trading a vendor-independent address for a vendor-specific address is not a good idea. Vendors change. My mail agent (thunderbird) will suggest the old address, so mail will be sent to the old address by default. Inconveniencing the list provider is unfortunate - but better that than inconveniencing every list member. Now, and the next time the list moves. (Somehow I don't think that dnssec-deployment will run out of issues anytime soon. Or not-so-soon :-( ) It's not the end of the universe - but I'd strongly prefer that the list address remain the same. -- This communication may not represent my employer's views, if any, on the matters discussed.
