Ah ha! That is the problem. Google currently requires 8 chars minimum, however, they do support legacy users (including me) with 7 characters. I'm not sure what the previous minimum was, but it was shorter than 8. Need to change that regex to respect legacy users. Shall I open a new bug for that?
