Webcasting and Multimedia in Public Sector Community of Practice
======================================================================
      Opening Soon, Join Now: http://dowire.org/webcasting

A new online community is being built to exchange information among
those active with webcasting and multimedia in the public sector.

There is growing interest in how to enhance the webcasting experience
for those watching public meetings online. Webcasts without
integrated access to the public documents being distributed at a
meeting generate as much positive noise in the community as one hand
clapping. Enhanced webcasting and the use of multimedia seeks to add
a second hand that wakes up this part of the democratic experience
for citizens.

Innovators scattered around the globe are now coming together online.
>From those involved in local town council to national parliamentary
webcasting or multimedia, make this the place where you exchange
practical advice with a trusted collection of your peers. Membership
is open to staff in public sector organizations and to those who
provide webcasting and multimedia services to governments,
universities, and other other public sector institutions.

This project is funded by the UK Local E-democracy National Project:

Please forward this to any e-network you know of that includes those
active in webcasting in the public sector.

Sincerely,
Steven Clift

P.S. Among other things, through the online community, we will be
planning a major one week online-only Local Government and Community
Webcasting Conference in February. The community will also provide
feedback on the creation of a draft specification on enhanced
webcasting.
