Join our web-based access to the new #e-democracy IRC chat channel (or use your own client at irc.freenode.net) right now from: http://dowire.org/wiki/Symposium_chat At 4 p.m. Central (10 p.m. UK time) today my friends at http://mentormate.com and I will be testing our audio webcasting with chat environment for next week's symposium. If all goes well http://democaster.org will have the capacity for 50 live audio streams next Tuesday and post-event we will have mp3/ogg files to download or stream. (In September probably, full video will be available with the help of http://spnn.org for recording and http://public-i.info with hosting.) The general idea is this - folks can listen live (if the timing works for them) and during the Q and A session the chat will be displayed for all to see as part of a multi-tasked discussion session. Attendees (we expect 75 folks) are also encouraged to bring their laptops and interact during the conference with the listeners. This will be the webcast home page: http://dowire.org/wiki/Symposium_webcast We will link up the "Democast" page before the test and announce it in the chat channel.
