The International Conference on Engaging Communities is an initiative
of the United Nations and the Queensland State Government being held
from 14 to 17 August 2005 in Brisbane, Australia.

Conference presentations will focus on a range of themes related to
community engagement.

A number of online initiatives have been introduced to maximise
opportunities for people to participate in the conference, including
those who are unable to travel to Brisbane.

You can:

*         Read abstracts online
<http://www.engagingcommunities2005.org/abstracts.html> .

*         Listen to audio broadcasts
<http://www.viostream.com/engagingcommunities/index.html>  of
selected
sessions via the internet and email your questions.

* Join an online discussion forum
<http://www.getinvolved.qld.gov.au/eForum>  to discuss conference
themes, before, during and after the conference. You can also
contribute to the drafting of the Brisbane Declaration on Community
Engagement.
