I wanted to let folks know I have a pending trip to Linz, Austria on
April 27 - May 1 as a Prix Ars Electronica digital communities award
jurist.

I support the time I put into http://DoWire.Org - the blog/e-news,
wiki, and groups - through my paid public speaking.

With the arrival of my son Liam, who is now over three months old, I
really want to keep my trips condensed. Adding speaking visits from
April 24-26 and/or May 2-4 would work best.

My typical audiences for presentations/small group meetings across
the 25 countries I've spoken in include:

- National/regional/local government e-participation and e-government
leaders and practitioners
- Parliamentary staff and MPs, other elected officials
- Companies looking to differentiate themselves from the e-government
pack who host small e-democracy seminars for top government officials
- Civil society/participatory media/internet research audiences
- Conference, keynote presentations galore

I am often brought in early (like during the development of the State
of Queensland's e-democracy policy which has led to many great
things, Mongolia) to present a global panorama of e-democracy
experiences and then later to dig in deep with e-democracy
practitioners in smaller intensive workshops ((Australia, UK,
Denmark).

I am often an ally of the sometimes lonely civil servant assigned to
figure out this "e-democracy" thing. I can say things the civil
servant/manager can't say and help open up doors higher in government
and raise attention to e-participation issues because I am coming
from the outside. I take an extremely practical best practices
approach using real examples.

Importantly, I always ask my hosts to "donate" a public presentation
at a local university when possible. I always appreciate the
opportunity to put on my volunteer "E-Democracy.Org" hat as well and
present on Issues Forums. In particular, if universities in Austria
are interested, contact me.
