White House 2001 - The Next White House Web Site

What should the next White House web site should do? What should it
look like? The use of the Internet by the President sets the agenda
for online strategies adopted by elected officials across the United
States and influences others around the world.

Leaders in other countries, like PM Tony Blair in the UK
<http://www.number-10.gov.uk/> have adopted feature rich sites
leaving the U.S. in dust. The new Administration will now begin
planning their official site once their transition site closes
<http://www.bushcheneytransition.com/> (assuming no more election
surprises).

I'd like to bring some volunteers together to help promote and
facilitate a special one week online discussion about the next
official White House web site in early January.

Interested? Send me an e-mail <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> if you are ready to
help bring together the thoughts of leading Internet figures (those
involved with 3rd and 4th generation online efforts in particular)
and mix them up with the politics/democracy/government online crowd.

Cheers,

Steven Clift
